The acquisition of Quattro, a structural and civil engineering consultancy based in Edinburgh, brings an additional 15 engineers and technicians to Civic’s staff roster.

Quattro Consult Limited (incorporating Stuart McTaggart Limited) was founded in 2009 and provides engineering consultancy services across residential, hotels, industrial and logistics, and heritage sectors for clients including Artisan, GSS Developments and Buccleuch Property.

It is London-based Civic’s third acquisition since 2024, following planning consultant New Practice and building services firm Watt Energy & Consulting Engineers.

Quattro director Mark Fisher said: “Civic is a natural cultural fit for us and provides the scale and specialist breadth needed in today’s evolving market. This is a major opportunity for our team and our clients, opening new pathways for career development and collaborative, design led engineering.

“Quattro has always been a client focused engineering consultancy, and our staff are fundamental to our success. Joining Civic allows us to build on that foundation, access a wider client base and work within a consultancy known for its innovative, complementary services. We see this as an exciting next chapter for our people and our long standing clients.â€

Civic Engineers chief executive Stephen O’Malley said: “Mark and the team at Quattro bring a huge amount of established engineering expertise, knowledge and skill, and they are highly respected by their clients. Their long standing relationships and strong pipeline complement Civic’s ethos and strengthen our collective ability to deliver positive impact across the built environment.

“This acquisition enables us to combine our respective strengths, expand our geographic reach and range, and reinforce Civic’s commitment to Scotland with a stronger footprint in Edinburgh. It also demonstrates the continued delivery of our growth strategy, helping us increase our scale, resilience and ability to compete, while ensuring both teams can have an even greater impact together.â€

Scotland director Isla Jackson added: “Quattro brings deep local knowledge, longstanding client relationships and a highly respected engineering team, all of which meaningfully strengthen our Scottish operations. The team’s arrival is a strategic step forward for Civic in Scotland, enhancing our ability to support clients with joined‑up, design‑led thinking across a broader range of projects and sectors.â€
