Some 40 years after being founded, specialist ground engineering contractor Central Piling has experienced a couple of years of phenomenal growth based on a clear strategy of investment in people, places and horse power.

From its origins in small premises in Suffolk, the company has evolved to new headquarters that includes an enlarged design and estimating department.

Central Piling opened its new head office and yard facility in 2017 on a two-acre site closer to London, at Halstead in Essex. The £2.2 million investment enabled improved maintenance and logistics capabilities as well as an excellent training and working environment and was the first step to ambitious expansion plans.

From the yard, a fleet of CFAs (Continuous Flight Auger), rotary bored and driven rigs no older than five years are maintained in-house using a workshop kitted with a wealth of spare parts and supplies. This enables the team to resolve plant breakdowns within 24 hours or arrange replacement equipment.

Central Piling is a member of the Federation of Piling Specialists which is dependent on an audit by an independent auditor who assesses the company to ensure high standards of technical ability, quality management, safety, training and environmental systems.
