The London Borough of Newham has handed Marlborough Highways a four-year highways works contract, running from 1st February 2026 to 31st January 2030.
The contract represents a significant expansion of Marlborough’s responsibilities in Newham. Since 2022 Marlborough has been responsible for delivering schemes in Newham. The new contract now also includes maintenance – both reactive and planned – as well as all the schemes.
There is scope in the new agreement for Marlborough to get two one-year extensions, extending the length of the contract to six years.
Marlborough Highways managing director Matthew Revell said: “Our teams know the borough well and this contract allows us to take on a wider role in maintaining and improving Newham’s streets and public spaces. From day-to-day maintenance to major schemes, our focus will be on delivering high-quality, reliable services that make a real difference for residents.â€
